a day in the life
Living in Van Buren, Maine, a small town with a strong sense of community and a picturesque setting, your day would be characterized by a close connection to nature, friendly interactions with locals, and opportunities to explore the outdoors. Here's a specific example of what your day might look like:
6:00 AM:
You start your day by enjoying a fresh cup of coffee on your farmers porch overlooking the beautiful piece of land you built your home on. You then get the kids ready to bring to the Van Buren Distric School!
8:00 AM:
After school drop-off you arrive at your workplace! You work at the Van Buren Hardware store which is actually right up the road from the school. You love your job and find a lot of enjoyment getting to chat with the locals that come in! This job has been a great way for you to get to know the community and you have been able to make a lot of new friends and get involved.
12:00 PM:
It's time for your lunch break, you and your co-worker decide to head to, Van Buren Tasty Food for a quick bite! You decided to grab a burger and fries and you are not disappointed. After you are finished eating you and your co-worker decide to go on a quick walk and you catch up about what you did over the weekend.
1:00 PM:
Returning from your lunch and walk, you continue your work at the hardware store. You really enjoyed getting to talk to the locals about some of the projects they are working on. You have been able to learn a lot and it really inspires you to tackle some of these projects on your own home!
4:00 PM:
As the workday ends, you run down the road to try and catch your kid’s baseball game! It’s been an intense season and you are excited to cheer them on. You catch-up with some of the other parents and one of your friends even brought you some seeds that she knows you have been wanting to add to your garden!
6:00 PM:
The team wins, which obviously means… victory ice cream for dinner! You decide to head to Houlton Farms Dairy Bar in Caribou for a sweet treat. It’s about a 25 minute drive, but you also figure you can kill two birds with one stone and grab a few things from Hannaford while you are there!
7:30 PM:
After you get home you decide to tend to your plants! You really have been working on your landscaping this year and you are excited to work on your garden again this season.
9:00 PM:
As the night winds down, you retreat to bed, feeling grateful for the natural beauty, the close-knit community, and the peacefulness that Van Buren, Maine, offers. You look forward to the next day's opportunities for exploration, connection, and embracing the beauty of the outdoors.
