What is your mission?

Our mission is to make workers' comp work better with compassion, trusted partnerships and relentless commitment to workforce safety. We're a purpose-driven company making a difference in the lives of those we insure.

MEMIC began operations in 1993 to serve as the guaranteed market for workers' compensation - a private company with a public purpose. For more than 30 years, we have been teaching employers and their employees to work safely and, for those who are injured on the job, we help return them to health and work as soon as appropriate.

In 2001, we began expanding outside Maine and now are licensed in 48 states. Our award-winning company has more than 22,000 policyholders and nearly 500 employees from Maine to Florida. The work we have done has been described as "the Maine miracle."
