Economic Development
Longtime Mainer
How do you spend your time here in Maine?
During the day I work with Maine businesses to expand the reach of Maine products and services beyond our state's borders. I work in Portland with a small team of international trade specialists and manage research requests from Maine companies about international business opportunities. In my free time, I explore Maine's many beaches, parks, trails, and restaurants. In the summer you'll usually find me on Casco Bay or visiting friends in neighboring New England states!
What do you love about working in Maine?
I heard someone say recently that we aren't always "in Maine," but we are always "of Maine" and that rings true for me! After working in Rhode Island, California, and Costa Rica, I'm thrilled to be back in my home state as a young professional. Working in Maine means seeing familiar faces and spending time in beautiful places where I have room to breathe and create.
What do you love about living in Maine?
Whether you're vacationing or living in Maine, most people agree that it's not just a place, but a mindset. For me, living in Maine means never being far from the ocean or the mountains. It means never having to drive far for a great sunset or a Saturday morning adventure.
Tell us a bit about your story!
After growing up in Maine, I left the state for several years to attend college, graduate school, and work abroad. As equally motivated as I was to leave, I also was to eventually return. After studying and working in Europe, Latin America, and the West Coast of the US, I was ready to return to Maine and give back to my home state. Now I work in economic development for the Maine International Trade Center, focused on bringing Maine to the world and the world to Maine. As a young professional, I strongly believe the opportunities for growth, innovation, and impact, are rich in Maine! As for my future, I undoubtedly see it being in Maine and couldn't be happier about that.
